Harry S. Truman was born May 8,1884 and he was born in Lamar MO. He went to Independence School and loved to read.
He married Elizabeth Wallace in 1919 and had a daughter named Margaret.
Truman opened a Mens clothing store, was a Senator, a country judge, was in the army and was a vice president.
After he became President he is quoted as saying: "I felt like the moon, the stars, and all the planets had fallen on me."
He won World War II. He built the nation back up and made the Marshall Plan. He also fought in the Korean War.
Harry S. Truman also opened up a library. He died on December 26,1972 and died in Lamar MO.
He was an unpopular President in 1948. In June 1945 Truman witnessed the signing of the charter of the United Nations, which was established with the intention to preserve peace.
Harry S. Truman is remembered for making some of the most crucial descisions in history, and has contributed much to our country today. "I felt like the moon, the stars, and all the planets had fallen on me."
